La Jolla, CA – Returning to the shores of La Jolla, the La Jolla Concours d’Elegance presented by LPL Financial and Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty celebrates its 16th year of automotive excellence Friday, April 22nd, Saturday April 23rd, and Sunday April 24th, 2022. The honored marque in 2022 is Bugatti – a marque known for its relentless quest for perfection and innovation which has led to several groundbreaking moments in automotive history. In celebration of Ettore and Jean Bugatti’s brilliance in automotive innovation and design, the La Jolla Concours will offer a rare opportunity to view one of the largest collections of Bugatti’s the show has ever presented with several one-off examples of the French marque. Earning a reputation as one of the finest internationally renowned classic automobiles displays in the US, featuring over 120 automobiles judged across thirteen classes and one motorcycle class, the La Jolla Concours continues to attract discerning car enthusiasts from around the globe for a weekend of prestigious events.

“Bugatti is being honored as the featured marque for the 2022 La Jolla Concours d’Elegance because of their design beauty, incredible engineering and many race victories.” Says Bob Kerner, Chair of the La Jolla Concours Car Selection Committee. “Bugatti will be celebrating their 113th year in 2022 and the annual meeting of the American Bugatti Club (ABC’s) is being held in San Diego the same week as the Concours.” The partnership between the La Jolla Concours and the American Bugatti Club has presented a unique opportunity to enhance the presence of Bugatti in this year’s show, making for a fantastically rare selection of Bugatti’s of various Types and Years. “The La Jolla Concours d’Elegance is delighted that the American Bugatti Club will be holding their annual meeting in San Diego the week of our Concours” says Kerner, “This allows our featured marque Bugatti to have the strongest representation possible and we are grateful for their support. Our patrons will have an amazing display of Bugatti’s on the field Concours Sunday to view”.
Bugatti is a marque synonymous with excellence, innovation, and luxury. Ettore Bugatti (1881-1947) was the legendary founder of the Bugatti company and the designer of record-breaking race cars and the most luxurious vehicles of his day. Bugatti transformed the world of automotive racing with his pioneering designs. At the age of twenty, in 1900, Bugatti finished his first car, the Type 2. It featured a light racing chassis and four-cylinder engine with twelve horsepower and attracted attention from many manufacturers of his day. The first “real” Bugatti to bear his name was hand tooled in 1908, the Type 10 La Petit Pur-Sang, the Small Pure Blood or Small Thoroughbred. This incredible automobile set the standard for all Bugatti designs and completely revolutionized the automotive engineering industry. Some would consider this vehicle to be one of the most important parts of automotive and racing history and the La Jolla Concours offers up an extremely rare opportunity to view this automobile in person along with dozens of impressive examples of Bugatti on Sunday, April 24th, 2022.

In addition to Bugatti’s, there are over 100 automobiles that are to be judged across 13 classes during the Sunday show. From American Classics to European Classics, Motorcycles, Race Cars, Jaguars, American Muscle and more – the tagline “World Class Cars, World Class Experience” is well earned. Each vehicle on display has been hand-selected by the La Jolla Concours Selection Committee who is responsible for curating the spectacular collection of cars each year and 2022 is promising to be one for the books.
