The Toyota C-HR misses out on the YTD top spot for just one sale.
New light vehicle sales in Bulgaria advance 9.5% year-on-year in February to 2,260 units, keeping in mind February 2021 was down -17% on the year prior. The year-to-date tally is now up 10.9% to 4,712. The Top 4 manufacturers outpace the market with sturdy double-digit gains. Toyota (+43.4%) is the runaway leader with 16.4% share, double any other carmaker in the country. Renault (+70.4%) is the most impressive while Citroen (+14%) rallies back 8 spots on January to #3 and Kia (+40.6%) is up one rank to #4. In contrast, Volkswagen (-21.1%), Peugeot (-10.8%), Skoda (-38.2%) and Dacia (-45.9%) all struggle, the latter falling a paltry 8th place vs. #1 over the Full Year 2021 now that the Dokker has disappeared from the charts. Hyundai (+134%) delivers the largest gain in the Top 10. Below, notice Porsche (+750%), Suzuki (+169.2%), Opel (+150%), Volvo (+64.3%), Mazda (+38.5%), Ford (+37.5%) and Audi (+36%) all up spectacularly.
Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Corolla (+28.9%) is up three spots on January to take the lead with 5.1% share, it also grabs the Year-to-date pole position for just one unit above the Toyota C-HR down to #3 this month. The Citroen C3 is up 19 ranks to end the month at #2 and #5 year-to-date. Below the C-HR (+147.4%), the Renault Clio (+125.9%) is also down one spot to #4 while the Dacia Duster (-18%) is down year-on-year but up 17 ranks on last month to #5. Other great performers in the Top 10 are the Peugeot 3008 (+75%), Skoda Kodiaq (+73.1%) and Kia Sportage (+36.1%). The Renault Express (#30) is the most popular recent launch above the Toyota Yaris Cross (#35) and Opel Mokka (#44).
